Let’s look at how we can help manage our employees by doing performance reviews.
Performance reviews should be done with your staff at least annually if not more often. When an employee is new, more frequent performance reviews are essential in ensuring that the staff member understands the responsibilities of their role.
As a manager or owner level access, you will be able to work on performance reviews.
Access "Location Staff"
Click on the staff member that you wish to complete a review on

When the staff details display, scroll down until you see "Performance Reviews"

If they have not received a performance review to date, type in the next performance review date. If they have already received one, monitor this date to determine when their next scheduled review is.
In the example below, the staff member has already had a review. Clicking on the three dots on the righthand side you can either "view" or "unpublish" a prior performance review.

Clicking view allows you to review the prior performance review.

To start a new review click on "Add Performance Review"

Select the review date and type in the review notes.

Don't forget to add their "star" rating!
If changing the compensation, complete the compensation change field. Note: Compensation needs to be updated in Gusto also to go into effect. This screen is simply for you to keep track of all details about their review in one place.

Lastly, be sure to save your changes.

It is recommended that you review the review with your staff member one-on-one and only then do you "publish" the review.
The "edit" feature will only be available until published. Once the review is published the option will change to "view" as described above.

Once the review is published the staff member will receive notification of it being available.
