Add a "New Parent Service" called hourly rate - automated estimation.
From the service type drop now select "New Parent Service" and in the service name type "Hourly Rate - Automated Estimation"
Click on "Create"

Add the rate
Add the short description

Then, add a "New Child Service" and select the parent service of "Hourly Rate - Automated Estimation"
Type in the service name.
Click on "create"

The toggle on for "match parent service price" should display. If you wish the price to be different, toggle it off and add the new price.



Tip: If you put in the average number of hours, for example, four hours of space planning on an average size home and they are moving into of 1200 ft.² it would be considered "normal."
Thus, when building space planning you are going to bill them $80 an hour which is the rate that from the parent service.
Anytime this is a destination service they will use the same average square footage. In this example, they will always be 1200 ft.²

If the square footage is less than the average, ensure that your charge doesn't fall below your minimum billable amount.
Add the "minimum dollar amount"


Scroll down and toggle "use destination values"
Add the short description and click "create" as previously described

In this example a second child service is being added

Leaving these at the default hourly rate will pick up your standard rate.
Add the average hours you spend doing this service.
Add the average square feet that you typically encounter.
Determine if you want this child service to be based on origination or destination values and toggle on / off appropriately .


If you do not want them to show up, click on the service and then "edit parent service"
Toggle off "active & available"




Using prior instruction concerning estimating, create an estimate and name it in the "Estimate Name" and click on create

Review the services and you will see that the calculation is automatic and the estimate is defaulted to those services that you have active

If you wish to update the square footage in the density categories for the origination and destination example the "density" and increase / decrease the square footage in the appropriate density category. Notice that the default is medium.

Expanding "space planning" for example, you will see it is set at the calculated amount. If you wish to change it, click on the customize sprocket.

In this example, the square footage for the density has been adjusted. Notice the price change.

After additional square footage adjustments in the appropriate categories, the price changes again.

To customize, as mentioned above, click on the sprocket. In this example you may customize the short description to provide details on this service for the client. After updating click on "update short description"


When showing to your client, toggle on or off the categories as you see fit. Also, click on the sprocket to see the additional customizations.
